My Experience
I knew that I loved math way back in middle school, and I decided to become a teacher in high school. The rest is history! After earning a B.S. in Mathematics, I spent some time teaching 7th grade math and then working as an educator at Sea World. I then earned an M.S. in Mathematical Science and began a career as a community college professor. I taught many different courses including arithmetic, algebra, trigonometry, pre-calculus, general math topics, and business calculus. After some life changes, I settled into library science for a short time. I taught STEM, robotics, and math courses for middle and high school students in a school media center; and I conducted STEM programming for youth at a public library. Currently, I am pursuing an education in visual arts.
Throughout all of this, one thing has remained the same: I love teaching! And I look forward to continuing my career as a tutor.
My Hobbies
I am 100% a nerd. I adore books, learning, math, and other nerdy things. I have been known to proudly wear math-themed clothing and jewelry, and I love a great Pi Day celebration.
But that's not everything about me! I learned to play ice hockey as an adult, and I am a huge fan of the Florida Panthers. I also find great joy in miniatures. Tiny versions of things are just too cute!
And recently, I discovered that I enjoy the visual arts. I am taking classes in the Photographic Technology program at Miami-Dade College, where I am first learning about drawing and 2D design. Lately, if you can't find me, I am probably working on a class project under the beautiful south Florida sky.
