My Experience

I have been a teacher since 1998. In that time, I have taught a wide variety of classes, including (but not limited to) 6th Grade Math, 7th Grade Math, 8th Grade Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, Pre-Calculus, Trigonometry, Analysis of Functions, Computer Science, and Robotics.

The first sixteen years of my career were spent in Central Florida before I moved down to South Florida for the 2014-15 school year.

The high point of my career so far was when my colleagues honored me as my school's Teacher of the Year in 2020.

In addition to teaching, I have served as a Math Department Chair, a Computer Science Department Chair, and an Instructional Technologist. I have also coached competitive Robotics teams, with my 2021 team winning the Middle Division World Championship in the inaugural Sphero Global Challenge.

My Hobbies

I am what can best be described as a geek. I'm a massive Superman fan, I collect LEGO and Hot Wheels, and I love franchises like Star Trek, Doctor Who, Star Wars, Jurassic Park, and many others.

I am also a fantasy novelist and enjoy amusing myself by creating weird little stories for my students' word problems. I mean...who doesn't want a word problem involving aliens trying to refill their UFO's fuel tank or walruses ordering sawdust-and-cheese sandwiches?

Oh, and my absolute favorite color is hot pink!
